Ubisoft really hasn't been a huge Gamer oriented company for a while now. Most of their titles tend to be child friendly, aside from Assassin's Creed. They have a few franchises, such as Rayman, that will appeal to gamers from years in the past, but overall, they aren't a huge "gamer" publisher. Also, they're not afraid of a few dick jokes BLEEP.
Rayman Origins
It all started with more info on Rayman Origins, and a live demo of the game. This game is a 3D graphics engine in a side-scrolling adventure. Its got some pretty witty humor, but aside from that, it doesn't seem to be a very in-depth or lengthy game. The price will really determine the value of the game, as it really seems like a download only game right now.
Driver San Fransisco
Not too much had been said in recent months on Driver. It was a marvel to play on Playstation 1, but got thwarted by Grand Theft Auto, once they introduced the open world, get out and walk around gameplay. This was a pretty generic trailer, not really showing too much new information, except adding multiplayer. It has a release date of August 30th, 2011.
Farcry 3
This game looks pretty awesome. It really seems a lot like a First Person Uncharted. The gameplay seems very fluid, and the graphics look great. Very suprising announcement, and hopefully this gets Ubisoft back on the map for shooters. This releases in 2012.
Brothers in Arms Furious 4
This game is another surprise from Gearbox and Ubisoft. It seems a lot like a game of Inglorious Basterds. Hoepfully, since there are 4 characters, it will be 4 player co-op. Not much information on how the game will play, but its definitely one to follow.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Gameplay looks really good on this game so far, but its been plagued by being pushed back so many times. 4 Player co-op will be a large selling point for the game, as its generally a pretty important factor in many buying a game. The graphics look great, along with a unique visual style. The release date still hasn't been confirmed, and they really need to make a definitive stand on this info.
Trackmania 2
A game where everyone can create their own tracks is a really interesting idea. Not sure about the two women announcing this title, but it seems cool. Not too much information, but follow it in the coming months for sure.
Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking
This looks like another party game, and really not too interesting. I'm not really sure why older people were shown playing it, as its definitely aimed at younger children. This Kinect enabled game is not really that impressive. It will be released on November 8th, 2011.
Just Dance 3
This is the first multiplatform Just Dance game. Hopefully, it doesn't lose its flair too much just yet. The first two were pretty fun, surprisingly, but they're still dance games. The possibilities for it on Kinect and Move are much greater than the Wii, but it was based on the loose Wii controls, so we'll see how well it does. It releases in October, 2011.
Rocksmith
This game really teaches you to play the guitar, though the music genre is a dying industry. It could turn out to be a great advance and renewal for the genre, but the question of how much a guitar and the game will cost is a big one. The game is supposed to release October, 2011.
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Well, not too much to speak about on Assassin's Creed, we all already know pretty much everything there is to know. The trailer shown was pretty awesome, as they usually are for the franchise. Its Ezio's final chapter, and its looking to be a great one. Gameplay looks great in the E3 reveal too. It releases November 15th, 2011.
Overall, Ubisoft didn't do a terrible job at their conference. They announced a couple surprises, and dind't focus on anything too long. They appealed to pretty much everyone, and gave gamers a few things to talk about and look forward to. They did, however, miss a ton of cursing, and didn't present very well.
Overall Rating: B-
