SSX Review
SSX returns after a very long hiatus, and it returns with a bang. The long awaited return of one of the most fun franchises on the PS2 returns in a bigger and more refined way. Insane courses that really don't make sense in the world are replaced with actual mountains recreated through NASA data. New modes, new multiplayer, and new features really make this game an awesome and challenging experience.
Assassin's Creed 3 Trailer
The new Assassin's Creed III has a trailer, and its awesome. Check it out, then read some wild speculation from me below!
So, it looks pretty amazing, right? Its been long debated and rumored that the 3 installment in the Assassin's Creed series would take place in Revolutionary America. There have been many hints and honestly, it really makes a lot of sense. Desmond is from the United States, so his ancestry would have to eventually make the journey to the states. Also, the Freemasons are very highly entangled in the Templar/Assassin feud, and their history is just about as mysterious. There are literally hundreds of possible events to attend and people to meet during the revolutionary period of America, that it should make an amazing game. There really haven't been ANY blockbuster titles that focus on Revolutionary America, so this game will definitely satiate the appetite of all the history buffs out there. Here's a bit of speculation, and just a few ideas I've either discussed or thought about.
The number of people that could possibly take part in this game is huge. Its been confirmed that George Washington will be in the game, possibly as a pretty main character. Interacting with the first American president should be one of the coolest things in this series so far. Another very notable character would be Paul Revere. Imagine a level in which you either help him on his famous ride, or try to prevent it, or just anything concerning it. Even another notable character, though I've read this isn't likely to happen, would be Benjamin Franklin. He could essentially be the Da Vinci of this game, but like I said, I've read that this isn't the case, for shame. The last major character that would be awesome to interact with is Benedict Arnold. Wouldn't it just be absolutely amazing having him as the major villain?
Its known that the main character of the game is part Native American, and during the revolutionary war, Native Americans actually fought for both sides, so the hero, Connor, could fight for both sides. It would be very interesting to see the Assassin's guild turned into a tribe guild type thing. Speaking of Native Americans, their weapons are a bit different from what the past games have been focusing on. Just from the images released so far, we've seen a tomahawk, bow and arrow, and pistols. The core gameplay mechanics are going to shift a bit, since the locations are going to take place partially in forests and nature, rather than large cities. Also, there's a much bigger threat of getting shot, since muskets were the weapons of choice during the war, but it does take a while to reload for each shot.
Assassin's Creed III releases on October 30th, 2012.
