Now, I'm not going to pretend to know any more about this game than anyone else. I've never played through the entire campaign on any of the Call of Duty games because they truly don't interest me. The multiplayer mode is usually where I enjoy myself, at least for a few months. I know a few tidbits about the game, though. It will be set in 2025, a near future that could quite possibly happen with China becoming a major threat to the safety of the world. The game will also take place partially in the 1980's, following one of the characters from the first Black Ops. The multiplayer of the game will take place in the 2025 part of the game, featuring new kill-streaks and different guns of course. The much-loved zombie mode will also be returning, but very few details have been provided on that front. Here's a trailer for those highly interested in watching:
There's plenty more information on the actual website for the game, blackops2game.com. The thing that I'm actually interested to see is that Activision finally seems to be taking a bit of a risk. Instead of literally going with the same war game after game, they're creating something that seems to have its own feel to it. Something that could potentially happen, which makes the single player much more enticing. They're also taking a risk by making the first game set in the future. This has definitely caused some people to turn away from the game, but overall I think its a most needed change to the franchise. I'm sure we'll see more about it at E3 this year, and it will inevitably sell like crazy come November 13th.
